Julia Tuttle 2018 Limestone Reef
In April 2019 IDC built an artificial reef for Miami Dade County near the Julia Tuttle Causeway. The reef was made up of 727 tons of limestone boulder configured to the specification of Miami Dade DERM biologists.
Artificial Reef Connection Project at Anchorage Artificial Reef Site in Miami Dade County
In September of 2016 IDC built an artificial reef connection offshore of Miami Beach for Miami Dade DERM. The project deployed 930 tons of lime rock boulder to connect other artificial reef sites on a “wreck trek” at the anchorage site off Miami Beach. This will allow recreational divers to more easily navigate the area and enhance habitat.
Port Everglades Turning Notch - Artificial Reef Construction
In March 2018 IDC constructed an artificial reef for Moss/Kiewit as part of their mitigation for the Port Everglades Slip II construction. IDC assembled 1200 tons of limestone boulder in 5 equally distant pyramid shapes to create a design specific artificial reef.
John Michael Baker CCA Memorial Reef
In August 2018 IDC worked with the Coastal Conservation Association to deploy 12 concrete modules in 70’ of water off of Broward county. This was the first installment in a multi-year artificial reef construction plan set forth by the CCA.
On April 29 & 30 IDC and GOA deployed 15 more pieces of concrete culvert structure on the JMB reef site.
Eternal Reefs
IDC has worked for Eternal Reefs several times, most recently in June of 2019. Eternal Reefs makes memorial reef balls for people who have passed away. IDC deployed 9 reef balls for Eternal reefs in June 2019 with our 50’ Dive Support Vessel (DSV) “Reef Ranger”.
No Shoes Reefs/CCA Palm Beach Reef Balls
On January 1, 2021 IDC was contracted by CCA Palm Beach to assist in the deployment of 13- 10,000 lb mega reef ball structures of Delray Beach, FL. The reef balls were deployed by the GOA vessel in 60’ of water.
